DreamYard Ribbon Cutting event photos

Our Ribbon Cutting event for the YOUmedia expansion of the DreamYard Art Center took place on Oct. 23, 2012. We were honored to have Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, members of our community and Hive NYC, and representatives from IMLS, ULC and our funders: JPMorgan Chase Foundation, John D. and Catherine J. MacArthur Foundation, and Enterprise Community Partners among many other guests! The event started with guests “hanging out and messing around” with a couple simple digital learning activities that showcased our music production, photo/video, and fashion programs. Then we all went outside to hear speeches from our honored guests, a poet from one of our alumni, and a few songs from the Bronx Arts Learning Community chorus! It was an amazing celebration of our staff and our community, the new expanded space our Art Center, and new digital artmaking tools for our young people! Check out the pictures to see more.
