Surge Columbus is a collective of 6 organizations practicing HOMAGO in YOUmedia centered spaces. Surge believes in interest-driven learning for teens—giving them the means and resources to spark creativity and leading them to discover unexplored pathways:

  • in areas of their own choice;
  • without the barrier of cost;
  • with the promise of a warm welcome and safe stay;
  • with access to technology, digital media and other learning tools;
  • with the time and space to interact with and learn from peers;
  • with the guidance of mentors;
  • with the choice to ramp up, shift gears or scale down, and;
  • the freedom to come and go—to begin, reflect or end.


Team Columbus Update – Learning Labs Partnership

The Learning Labs planning project is a collaborative effort between the Columbus Metropolitan Library, the Columbus Museum of Art, the Wexner Center for the Arts, the Center for Science & Industry (COSI) and WOSU Public Media.
