Chicago, IL: YOUmedia Chicago - Rudy Lozano Branch

From the success of YOUmedia at the Harold Washington Library Center in downtown Chicago, the Chicago Public Library and Digital Youth Network have expanded the YOUmedia model to three Chicago neighborhood branch libraries. Library branch locations provide the opportunity to reach youth learners who have not been engaged in the downtown location, and also affords the opportunity to have peers from different YOUmedia branch libraries link with each other through the online social network. At the branch YOUmedias, middle school students are able to take workshops such as Digital Photography, Graphic Design, Digital Music, Digital Video, and Radio/Podcasting, as well as explore their own interests and socialize with friends during the Hanging Out and Messing Around times.
